Deep Fried Film

The Deep Fried Film Festival is open to all film makers. We screen films from around the globe from film makers of all ages and levels.

Submission is completely free and all we ask is you complete an application form and send us your film on DVD.

All films submitted are viewed and rated by our selection panel made up of our staff, sponsors and volunteers from charities involved. Once the closing date has passed the films are allocated slots by genre. We allocate the highest rated films first and work our way down the list. Unfortunately we have a small budget and an even smaller amount of screen time so please do not fell disheartened if we are unable to screen your film.

The commitee is made up of Martin Greechan and volunteers from the sponsors and charities.

We will try our utmost to inform film makers whether or not their film is being screened as close to the closing date (24th May) but if you have not heard back by the 30th May Please contact us.

Awards
Each year we allocate awards to films that have stood out in one or another. We use audience feedback and the opinions of our sponsors to determine these awards. Certain years do not have awards such as our 5th Anniversary and hopefully our 10th

Voting System
Each member of the audience is given a ballot with a list of the films being screened. Film makers are also given a ballot with their own film omitted (this negates film makers being able to vote for themselves.) the ballots are then added up and a percentage approval rating calculated. In the event of a tie judges votes will be added to the calculations. If there is still a tie Deep Fried Film will decide the winner but will inform the film maker that such a decision has been made.

Inelligible
We do a lot of work training film makers and as a result sometimes a film is submitted to the festival that may have had involvement from members of our staff. This does not guarantee the film entry to the festival and any film that has a connection with the festival or any of it sponsors will be inelligible for any awards.
